Wi-Fi 7 - Fronthaul MLO support

Wi-Fi 7 - Fronthaul MLO support

General

With the release of OpenSync 6.2, preliminary support for Wi-Fi 7 Multi-Link Operation (MLO) APIs was introduced. This support spans both the cloud abstraction layer (northbound) and the target/platform interface (southbound), with initial implementations delivered on dedicated Wi-Fi 7 POD development branches.

The API definitions introduced in OpenSync 6.2 remain stable and unchanged through version 6.4, ensuring consistency and predictability for third-party integrators. Regardless of the underlying hardware platform, integrators can rely on these established APIs to enable Wi-Fi 7 functionality without the need to adapt to version-specific changes.

Those APIs can be found documented Wi-Fi 7 - MLO - Phase 1.0

OpenSync 6.6 marks a major milestone as the first publicly released version that successfully passes certification on Wi-Fi 7 device. This release includes substantial enhancements across the stack - not only within the core OpenSync wireless components, but also in the platform-specific modules, which have been significantly improved and patched to meet Wi-Fi 7 requirements and certification criteria.
