OpenSync 6.2 Release Notes

OpenSync 6.2 Release Notes

Release 6.2.4

Notable Enhancements

  • Added descriptions for Wi-Fi health check scripts (ap.sh, bss.sh, etc.)

  • Improved LAN statistics flow filtering to include entries based on MAC address presence and Ethernet device tags

Notable Fixes

  • FSM: Replaced assert calls with proper error raising and handling for corrupted signatures.

  • Resolved outdated IPv4/MAC binding entries by updating the table using MAC addresses instead of IP addresses

  • WANO: Fixed a memory leak that occurred when a pipeline was restarted and plug-ins (with different WAN configurations) were in the wait queue

  • OWM:

    • Improved WPA3 backhaul-only stability by correcting OWM signaling of the PMF state on STA iftype in OVSDB.

    • Scheduled all driver work tasks when reporting the start of a VIF channel change.

    • Reduced AP (re)configuration time in OWM by eliminating an unnecessary 5-second timeout.

    • Fixed a TX statistics regression on Broadcom platforms, introduced during the transition from WM to OWM, where statistics would slowly drift upward on reconnects due to incorrect use of global multicast counters.

    • Added radio off and interface down wlctl commands for low power mode on Broadcom platforms.

  • Updated the Dockerfile to fix an unreachable miniupnpc tarball.

  • Fixed the directory name used for stashing the DPi engine minimum signature bundle.

  • Interfaces created by third parties are now managed by OpenSync and added to the bridge if needed.

  • NM: Flushed the FDB table on L2UF receive and improved logging of failures in SFE

Release 6.2.3

New Features

  • Application QoE framework

Release 6.2.2

Notable Enhancements

  • IoTM: Added node_id and location_id to IoTM MQTT reports

Notable Fixes

  • Android: Replaced retired link for OpenSSL download

  • If a packet already tagged by FSM is seen again, FSM allocates a new buffer and adds the tag information, this is causing memory leak.

  • Improved the Wi-FI device type that we do not truncate the Associations IEs on Broadcom platforms.

  • WANO: Fixed a memory leak because we used wrong DHCP IPv4 address in corner cases.

  • OWM: Fixed 2GHz HWM false-positive backoff preventing low power mode from upsteering clients.

  • NM: Fix the guest Wi-Fi client can't access internet after the uplink of the leaf reconnects

Release 6.2.1

Notable Fixes

  • CM: Addressed memory leak when using IPv6 stateful uplink.

  • CPM: iptables rules are now configured from cloud via NFM, CPM own settings no longer apply.

  • Remove SIGKILL from list of ignored signals for DM monitoring the process restart.

  • OWM:

    • Address memory leaks and corner case crashes.

    • Decrease log verbosity in module `ow` in section `candidate_assessor` to avoid quick log rotation.

  • FSM:

    • Back off packet inspection when the packet buffering is filled.

    • Fix the configuration of nfqueue kernel flags in runtime.

    • Reduce the number flow acceleration related frames from the gateway to leaf nodes

  • Reduced UDP timeout to 30 seconds.

  • FM: Log duplication is fixed

Platform Support

  • OpenSync on Android

  • Fixed survey stats in OWM reporting 1000x greater percentages due to unit computation mismatch (usec vs msec) on Broadcom platforms.
